Miss Earth USA 2019
I am a 25-year-old feminist, education activist. Environmentalist and a Valdosta State University Graduate student. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with an emphasis in Intercultural Organization and I am currently working to complete my Masters in Education with a major in School Counseling. I was crowned Miss Georgia USA in 2016 and later placed second runner-up at the Miss USA competition in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am currently your Miss Earth USA 2019 and I will be competing for the international title of Miss Earth in the Philippines Fall, 2019.
My passion for children and education encouraged me to get more hands-on, and in 2016 I created my own program for the youth. This program encourages scholars to follow their dreams, get involved in their communities and most importantly excel inside the classroom. My focus is now on inner-city minority students, where I am determined to bring awareness to the importance of education, the environment, self- love, as well as introducing students to the career development process. Empowering women, the youth and my community is what motivates me to continue to follow my own dreams. My confidence comes from the people I work with, knowing I can inspire them to believe in themselves and make a difference--helps me to know that I am doing exactly what I was destined to do. I am a leader for the ENACTUS organization at my University. I serve as the co-chair of the Greenhouse project and the Green team. I work with a team to build, maintain and plant at a greenhouse, to provide a source of food and income for the members at the homeless facility. As a member of the Green Team, my peers and I were able to implement a recycling program at an Elementary school where there wasn’t one. I am able to teach the students the importance of knowing and encouraging the 5 R’s. I believe there is much importance in educating the youth about taking care of the environment and how it can be fun and rewarding.
As a pageant Queen, I personally love a little glitz and glam, but I like to think that the key to being beautiful is embracing every flaw and difference your body holds. I am all about empowering women and uplifting the many communities that surround me—I hope to leave a legacy that reflects my love for our protecting our planet, supporting humanity and having the perfect shoe while doing it!
