About Markesha
Dr. Markesha Miller, originally of Pageland, South Carolina is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She obtained her B.A in English and Psychology, Ed.S in Marriage and Family Therapy, and her Ph.D in Counselor Education and Supervision, consecutively. Dr. Miller is a professor , licensed psycho-therapist in North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as a consultant and motivational speaker. She currently owns and operates Holistic Psychological Associates and is the Vice- President of The Center for Emotional and Behavioral Change. Dr. Miller travels nationally speaking and teaching on issues related to mental health. Dr. Miller currently has a national mental health awareness tour spreading awareness and raising funds for mental health resources. In addition to being a best selling author, she has published various articles, book chapters, and presented her research on a local, state and national level. Dr. Miller is a media correspondent for various local, state and national news outlets and currently has a national syndicated radio show, "On the Mark with Dr. Markesha Miller"(www.onthemarklive.com). Miller is also the founder of her non-profit, "The Marguerite C. Blackwell Foundation", named in honor of her grandmother , aimed at providing mental health services, empowerment, and services for families and children in rural areas.
In addition to scholarship and frequent media appearances, Dr. Miller also is an active pageant participant, pageant judge, community advocate, and serves on various local and state boards.
