Katiejean is on a mission to do the impossible. A 14 year old from Nashville, Tennessee she has designed and implemented her nationwide organization Katie’s Little Angels geared towards Neonatal Intensive Care infants and their families.

Her passion to help NICU families and has led her to numerous awards and honors including the Junior Ambassador for Nurses For Newborns of Tennessee, Presidential Volunteer Gold Service Award, Tennessee S.T.A.R Youth Volunteer Award, and has been chosen for the second year in a row to serve on the Tennessee Youth Urban Development Team.

Born at 21 weeks, she received in-home services from Nurses for Newborns. She has a deep passion to provide resources and support services for NICU families to have a happy healthy baby. Katiejean has also enjoyed volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank and Arbys to feed underprivileged children. After school, you will find her tutoring children at the Gallatin Shalom Zone. In summers, she helps with their day camp and Christmas she is assisting with Toys for Tots.

Pageantry and community service has led Katiejean to launch her couture clothing line at Cosmopolitan New York Fashion Week in February 2021. Charjean Couture’s first collection is the Angel Collection which is in honor of NICU babies and their families. She began designing clothing two years ago when finding it nearly impossible to locate clothing that fit her figure. Another possible life-long impact of prematurity is being petite or smaller than others that are the same age. Katiejean’s struggle led her to design her own clothing for pageants and for other girls and women who face similar challenges. A portion of all Charjean Couture’s sales go into Katie’s Little Angels and continue to grow the impact her platform can have on communities and beyond.

Community service is a vital part of her everyday life and has given Katiejean the opportunity to affect thousands of NICU babies, children, and families. With over nine hundred hours of community volunteer service hours and collecting over 13,000 items to support premature infants she is on a mission to do the impossible.
